The Baseball Research Journal (BRJ) is SABR’s flagship publication. Established in 1972, BRJ was created so that members could publish and share their research with like-minded students of baseball. Today, BRJ provides a unique mix of cutting-edge baseball research and historical and biographical articles.
The National Pastime is SABR’s convention-focused journal. Published annually, this 128-page journal provides in-depth articles focused on the respective geographic region where the convention is taking place in a given year.
During the late 1970s, SABR began issuing occasional books, and frequently provides new titles throughout the year as a benefit of membership. Here is a list of books we’ve published.
In 2011, SABR launched its Digital Library program at SABR.org/ebooks. Our publications program is shifting to take advantage of new methods of publishing. Not only will we continue to publish new books like CAN HE PLAY? A Look At Baseball Scouts And Their Profession, which showcase the best efforts of SABR’s members, chapters and committees, but now new technology makes it possible for us to bring back out-of-print titles such as GREAT HITTING PITCHERS and RUN, RABBIT, RUN. Books will be available in digital formats as well as paperbacks produced by “print on demand” (POD), and SABR members get discounted rates for all e-book publications.
SABR’s publishing program is managed by Publications Editor Cecilia Tan. Please contact her with inquiries at ctan@sabr.org before submitting your article.
